Witness Cross-Examined in Alleged UDP Motorbike Theft Case

The first prosecution witness in the trial over the alleged theft of two motorbikes involving a UDP motorcycle last Monday gave evidence under cross-examination at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

Under cross-examination, PW1 Omar Sawanehtestified that his blue motorbike was stolen by one Saidou Leigh alias Tension.

He explained to the court that Saidou was later apprehended by the police and detained at the Anti-Crime Unit in Banjulinding.

However, Saidou denied knowing Sawaneh and also dismissed the allegation of theft pressed against him.

It could be recalled that Ebrima Camara, Saidou Leigh alias Tension, and Muhammed Danso alias 50 sometime in July this year were charged with three counts of conspiracy, burglary, and stealing a UDPmotorbike and another motor bicycle marked TVS; a property of Omar Sawaneh.

The case was presided over by Principal Magistrate Sallah Mbai.
