Alleged coup plotters ringleader Denies Testimonies of State Witnesses

The alleged coup plotters ringleader, Lance Corporal Sanna last Friday denied the testimonies of the State witnesses before Justice Basiru VP Mahoney of the Banjul High Court.

Lance Corporal Sanna Fadera attached to the National Navy of the GAF Military Ferry as a Lab technician during his defence with his counsel L. S. Camara denied the charge of treason, incitement, and mutiny against President Barrow’s government.

Lance Corporal Sanna Fadera denied the allegation of Captain Omar Jobe who told the court that he visited him in his house where the accused (Sanna Fadera) told him his intention of overthrowing the sitting government of the Gambia. He said he did not show the operational plan of the alleged coup to both Captain Omar Jobe and Sergeant KaramoJatta.

The accused denied his audio communication with one Sergeant Karamo Jatta among many other allegations against him.

However, Lance Corporal Fadera disclosed to the court that he is not capable to move one soldier at his command in the GAF.

He added that the allegation of the support of the Infantry Battalions was false. 

Meanwhile, according to the recent judgment of Justice Basiru VP Mahoney, the 4th accused, Corporal Omar Njie was acquitted and discharged, while the accused, Lance Corporal Sanna Fadera stands defence of treason, incitement, and mutiny against the State while Petty Officer Gibril Darboe, Corporal Ebrima Sannoh, Corporal Omar Njie and Sub-Inspector Fabakary Jawara are standing defence on treason and concealment of treason against the Republic of The Gambia.
