The community road leading to the Tujerent Health Post has been tagged dangerous by the users of the road taking into consideration its current situation.

Fanta Bojang, a midwife at the Tujereng Health Post had called on the government to come to the aid of people of the community and the users before the commencement of the rainy season

She said last year they encountered a lot of challenges on the said road because of its bad condition, saying “The situation was tense last year because the road split into two parts and ambulance found it difficult to access the road.”

She continued that last year when they have a referral their ambulance hit a rock which caused serious damage to it.

She said even if the community people do not cry out the government officials who have been monitoring and supervising are using vehicles and they should complain about it.

Lamin Sonko, a patriotic youth of the community explained that the new highway at Tujereng is a sign of development but it affected the village the other way around due to the design of the highway.

He explained that last year the road that led to Tujereng Health Post was a no-go area ambulances plus private vehicles cannot access the road. “If you have a patient or referrals it is always a problem even last year there was a disaster on this road.”

He explained that there is only one midwife at the health post under the government payroll while the rest are volunteers serving their community wherein the Village Development Committee pay them.

He disclosed that the health post is serving many satellite villages in the Kombos.

But with the condition of the road, he said pregnant women, old and those who are extremely sick cannot access the road.
