The business community along Farafenni Highway has launched a support complaint to the National Road Authority, AREZKI Construction Company, and the Ministry of Works to create space for customers to have access to shops/stalls as the Transgambia corridor project started the installation of metal cross bars.
They noted that the metal cross bars will affect easy access of customers and evacuation of goods.
The installation of cross metal bars contributed to low sales and may lead to difficulty in paying rent. Speaking to The Voice in Farafenni, North Bank Region, Alhaji Lamin Jaiteh and Suwaro Konteh businessmen whose shops and others were affected decried poor installation of the bars as it restricts customers, family members, and friends from entering. The duos constructed concrete slabs in front of their shops, as part of their contribution.
However, the upgrading and expansion of the road and extension of the construction of drainage systems, road humps, and installation of solar street lights along the highway improve security.
