By Modou Lamin Jarjusey

Unity Comprehensive School on Thursday organized a grand cultural event to create awareness and appreciate the culture at all levels,

Speaking at the event, Mr. Bojang, one of the founding members of the event said every year the school organises a grand cultural festival to “educate the young generation on their culture and its significance as it allows young ones to recognise their culture in any society they find themselves.”

He applauded the school and other cultural groups that came out to embrace their culture peacefully. Noting that, the group has achieved some of its objectives like educating the communities, building friendly relationships among ethnic groups, and unifying different people from different cultures.

Meanwhile, Mr. Touray who is also among the founders of the festival said this event is important because it can also prevent the students from having bad attitudes and adopting cultures that will lead them astray.

Among the activities marking the festival include the display of masquerade dance, inter-school competition on cultural dance, quiz competition, poetry competition, and drama competition.

Participated schools include the host school, Kairaba senior secondary school, and Arch Dicken Goerge Senior Secondary School.
