Senegalese driver arraigned for reckless driving

Sawudou Njie, a Senegalese driver who fled away after a vehicle accident in Tumani Tender Village, on Tuesday was charged and arraigned for trial before Magistrate Ebou Sowe of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

 The accused, Sawudou Sowe, who was charged with two counts of offense, reckless driving, and muting, pleaded not guilty when the matter was called by the court clerk.

 The bill of the indictment filed before the court revealed that Sawudou Njie, on the 6th of October 2022 at Tumani Tender village, Kombo East, between the hours of 9:00 to 9:30 pm, drove a motor vehicle with the registration number DK 0378 T truck Renault in a rush and negligently caused a serious injury to Famara Colley. 

He failed to stop by driving away from the scene without reporting the matter until he was apprehended by the police officer.

 However, Magistrate Ebou Sowe adjourned the matter to the 14th of February 2023 for a hearing.
