Defending Champions Sanchaba United Were Knockout of the Brikama Sports ‘Nawettan’

The defending champions of Sanchaba United were recently knockout by the Brikama Sports ‘Nawettan’ by Sky Power in a penalty shootout following a 1-all draw at the Brikama Box-Bar Mini Stadium.

Ebrima Nyassi converted an early goal for Sanchaba boys that came from Edrisa Jarju’s set piece in the 4th minute of the game.

But Lamin Touray’s equalizer in the 37th minute for Sky Power rolled the score sheet for a penalty shootout which ended in favor of Sky Power.

Speaking to Voice Sports, Landing Bojang the assistant head coach of Sky expressed his joy at the victory, stating that he has prepared for the victory.

”We will knock out our opponents one by one and we will lift the trophy” he stressed.

The head coach of Sanchaba United, Saloum Kujabi on his part praised his boys for a good performance in the ‘Nawettan’.

But he noted that his defenders were absent, which resulted in his defeat. ”My team was a better team last season compared to this season,  for we were unfortunate to progress into the final”, he lamented.

Meanwhile Nema United, Jaliba United, and  Sky Power all booked their place into the semi-final.
