Gambia Kung-Fu Wuhsu Federation elects new executive

The Gambia Kung-Fu Wuhsu Federation has on Saturday, elected a new executive who will steer the affairs of the federation for the next three years.

Congress which gathered the sports concerned stakeholders held at the B.O Semega Hall at Serrekunda East Park.

The congress which marked the end of the former Tijan Colley-led executive, has now voted Alieu Bah in as the new President of the federation.

Mr. Bah, who was the Federation’s PRO until before election as the new President, said his experience in both as an executive and athlete means he will always want to reach the highest level in Gambian Kungfu.

“Today is my happiest day since I entered Gambia Kungfu. I want to leave a legacy after my three years term,” he further stated.

According to him, he wants to be the first president to take Gambian Kungfu athletes to international competition, noting that “I also want to organize local competitions and I look forward to the support of my executive.”

Meanwhile, the elective congress was overseen and conducted by the National Sports Council whose Representative Abdoulie Bojang cautioned the newly elected executives to unite and develop Kungfu.

“Unite as one people to take Kungfu forward, but also use your connection to get this game to international level,” Bojang stressed.”
