Visa Restrictions will have an economic impact on our country – Sheikhana Faal

Following the recent announcement made by the European Union’s Commission of adopting proposals to introduce visa measures for passport holders of Senegal and The Gambia, Sheikhna Faal, the Press Secretary of the Gambia Action Party said the restrictions will have an economic impact on the country.

In an exclusive interview with this medium, Mr Faal said: “The impacts of the visa restriction cannot be overemphasized because the fact of the matter is, our economy surely depends on Gambians abroad sending money to their families back home.

“This government has no plan or whatever and it’s no surprise that every Gambian young person wants to travel in search of greener pastures because the environment is not created by the government for young people,” he added.

Faal went on that visa restrictions will only get things worse for the young people but will also boil down to the decision made by President Adama Barrow and his government.

More so, the government track records and bad foreign policies have no respect for Gambia and it’s all about making it hard for Gambians, he noted.

“The Gambia with this government has nothing to offer and that is why they are closing their doors on Gambians and as long as we still have Barrow as the president we would have more of this on our way,” he said.
