Over eleven million dalsi is allocated for this year’s National Youth Conference and Festival (NACONF), the event which is a biennial event coordinated by the National Youth Council.
The main activities of this mega convergence included inter-generational dialogue, youth conferences, sports, cultural activities, Academic competitions, and awards.
Revealing the plan being put in place by the organizer during the press conference held at Atlantic Hotel Banjul, the Minister of Youths and Sports Bakary Badjie said the upcoming NAYCONF will be hosted in Banjul from December 15 to 23.
He said this is a National Youth event that is bringing young people of the country under one banner.
Alagie Jarju, Executive Director of the National Youth Council underscored the importance of the event, conference and festival which he said played a vital role in the empowerment of youths in the country.
He added that as a Ministry we believe that the youths of the country need empowerment because they are the future leaders. NYC is trying to work with the Government in many aspects especially sports activities, the music industry, Art’s, and Culture. However, he said they intend to build a market where products will be sold while calling on the youths to participate during the event.
