Two accused get court bail

Assan Sillah and Abdoulie Dem from Farato Village, West Coast Region who assaulted Amadou Jallow with sticks and stones were Thursday, 25th August 2022 granted bail by the Brikama Magistrates’ Court presided over by Magistrate Isatou Dabo.

Meanwhile, the two accused, Assan Sillah and Abdoulie Dem pleaded not guilty to the charges when the charge sheet was ready for them.

According to the narration of their offense, Assan Sillah, and Abdoulie Dem, on the 1st  August 2022 at FaratoSinchu Gidom village, West Coast Region jointly assaulted Amadou Jallow with sticks and stones, therefore, causing him actual bodily harm.

Calling the case, the prosecutor, Corporal 4812 John Pierre told the court that the two accused on the 1st of August 2022 cooperatively assaulted Amadou Jallow a native of Farato Sinchu Gidom Village with a stick and stone on his face causing him serious bodily harm.

However, the presiding Magistrate Isatou Dabo noted that the case is a bailable offense and granted baile but reminded that it is a bailable offense and bail is purposely for the accused to appear before the court for hearings and default to this, they will be arrested by the Gambia Police Officers for court hearings.

The case was adjourned to the 26th of September 2022 for continuation.
