Brikama Utd, RedHawks book places in FF Cup last four

Brikama United and Red Hawks FC have both progressed into the last four (semi-finals) of the Gambia Football Federation FF Cup tournament following their victories over Immigration and Kanifing East respectively, in a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Wednesday.

Brikama United booked their place in to the semi-finals phase after defeating Immigration FC 2-0 in the earlier game played at the stadium on Wednesday.

The Sateba boys scored their goals through Mustapha Drammeh and Pascal Mendy’s own goal to send them through.

The victory sent Brikama United through to the next stage, while the defeat eliminated Immigration FC from the FF Cup competition.

Meanwhile, Brikama United currently sits 3rd position in the 1st division league with 38 after 25 games, while Immigration FC occupied 4th position in the 2nd division league with 45 points after 27 matches.

Elsewhere, Red Hawks also overcame Kanifing East 4-2 in post-match penalties following a goalless stalemate in regulation time, in the late game played at the stadium on Wednesday.

Red Hawks who are having a good run in the FF Cup tournament, now progress into the last four, while the debutant side Kanifing East now crashed out following the defeat.

Red Hawks currently sit in 15th position with 26 points, while Kanifing East occupied 10 positions with 39 points in the GFF 2nd division league after 27 games each.

Meanwhile, the final place will be determined on Tuesday 18th July, when Wallidan lock horns with Elite United in a continuation of their abandoned game to be played at the Independence Stadium at 4 pm.

Earlier second-tier side Gunjur United were the first to seal their spot with a shocking 2-0 victory over four times winners Gamtel FC on Tuesday at the Independence Stadium.
