The ongoing Lamin Daranka baby kidnapping case presided over by Judge Peter Adoh Che of the Brikama Magistrate Court has been adjourned.

Meanwhile, on Monday 20th June 2022, Jainaba Ceesay, a resident of Lamin Daranka who claimed of being the biological mother of the baby accused Anna Sanneh of kidnapping her baby girl on 1st May 2022 at Lamin Daranka, Kombo North, West Coast Region.

Ms. Ceesay told the court that her 3-year-old daughter was kidnapped when her sister Nyima was sent to the shop to buy milk for an unknown woman.

“My family went on searching for my missing daughter and we reported the case to the Banjulnding and Madinary Police Stations respectively, and after four days of searching, I received information at 2:00 pm that Anna Sanneh (the accused) posted the picture of my daughter on WhatsApp status,” she explained.

She continued to tell the court that upon receiving the information about her daughter that she went with her husband (Modou Badjie) and my uncle to pick up the kidnapped girl from the accused, Anna Sanneh, adding that they later took the found kidnapped baby girl to Kanifing hospital for medical check-up.

“I am the biological mother of Mariama,” she told the court and went on to exhibit the birth record card of the child to prove to be the biological mother.

However, the lawyer of the accused Sheriff K. Jobe questioned the authenticity of the child’s birth record card. “You have brought this to fast-track the court process,” he said.
