BAC sign over D9million construction agreement with GiGO Company

The Management of the Brikama Area Council (BAC) on Wednesday signed a D9,994,900.00 construction contract agreement with the GIGO Construction Company for the construction of Jambarr Sanneh Road, Brikama, West Coast Region..

The construction road project is said to be completed within four months and is funded by the Brikama Area Council with its quest to improve the road conditions within Brikama and improve the socio-economic states of the communities within the West Coast region.

The signing ceremony held at the Brikama Area Council was attended by senior staff of the council, councillors, representatives from the National Road Authority (NRA) and representatives of GIGO Company.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Brikama Area Council, Modou  Jonga said the road is 400m length. He commended the National Road Authority for the technical assistance they have been rendering for the Council over the period.

He disclosed that the Council is doing everything possible to improve the road conditions within Brikama which is the administrative headquarters of the West Coast Region.

Upon the project completion, he said, this will reduce the congest of traffic within Brikama and also improve the socio-economic states of the communities within West Coast Region,

He said it is not only those within Kombo Central but most importantly it would help to mitigate the risk of flow, which is very common in the community of Jambarr Sanneh.

Amadou Gigo, chairman of GIGO Construction Company expressed appreciation for the trust and confidence bestowed on his company to construct the road project and proudly stated that “I am pleased, honoured, and humble to witness the signing of the Jambarr Sanneh road.”

MrGigo thanked the management of the Brikama Area Council and the National Road Authority for the prestigious award and recognition awarded to GIGO construction company for the project.

MrGigo further assured the management of Brikama Area Council  that GIGO construction will deliver a first class-road for  the project,  “I am a born citizen of Brikama once again I would like to thank Brikama Area Council and its partners for the trust and confidence they have on us,” he vowed.

In his part, the chairman of Brikama Area Council, SheriffoSonko said GIGO construction is a household name in the Gambia that everyone in the Gambia is proud of what he has been doing in this country. He assured that it is good to follow his track records as an outstanding construction company, that he had known the company a while ago when was working with GT Bank.

He praised the chairman of the GIGO construction company for his efficiency in service delivery while he encouraged him to replicate his good works in this project as expected by the Brikama Area Council and the community.

AbubacarrDrammeh, senior staff of National Road Authority (NRA) said road condition is a key component of development for the National Road Authority and their major objective is to ensure that they have a good road network within the entire region of the country.

He revealed that the Brikama Area Council as their good partners during the past years and that they  have been collaborating with them to make sure that the road infrastructure within the West Coast Region is improved to make a very good road condition within the region.

He mentioned that to access the road from JambarrSanneh highway, people living within that area are usually a great problem to them during the rainy season and they usually face some strains during the rainy season.
