The Management of Jah Oil Company, a Gambian own company had vehemently denied allegation over selling of low quality fuel supply to the general public..
Momodou Hydara, Manager of Jah Oil Company described the allegation towards their company’s product as false and unfounded. He denied this allegation in an interview with the media at his office in Bafuloto recently.
According to him; “When you’re in business and competing, usually people will try to dig every kind if dark and put it on you. It is very sad when people look at one company’s progression and later paint it dark about their success.”
Been an Islamic oriented company, Mr. Hydara noted that, whatever they do, they do it in accordance with the Sharia and the Quran.
“It is so bogus and disturbing when people make such an allegation after seeing us coming this far, now dominating and becoming the largest fuel distributors in the country.”
He added that leadership comes with consequences, adding that especially when one came and found some people in certain businesses and later dominated them.
“People made a lot of bogus allegations towards our company (Jah Oil), because we are now leading in the fuel distribution business in the country. It is mind-blowing and disturbing when people pointed at us and said that our fuel is of a lower quality than other stations when we only have one depot in the country, where all stations go and receive fuel for distribution,” he revealed.
According to him, in the beginning they just ignored about the rumours and allegations they had about their company, adding that because all those allegations towards their company is a child play.
“We took them as a child play because how can we have a low quality product compared to others when we only have one fuel depot in the country where all the other stations received their suppliers.”
He added that: “In that depot, the capacity is so small that one fuel company cannot come with their petroleum and they give them a special tank,” he added that, every tom, dick and harry who import petroleum products in the country, will put it in a certain tank. When one comes with the product will dump it in that same particular tank together with others as well. In the morning when we come to fetch suppliers, we fetch from the same tank and take to our various stations. Mr. Hydara seized the opportunity to said Jah Oil company is the leading distributors company in the Gambia had have the highest Gambian employee. He also disclosed that Jah Oil is 100% percent tax compliant in this country. He said therefore advised people to ignore this rumour circulating in the public domain , as he put it it is certain unscrupulous individual that that are trying to tarnish the image of Jah Oil company. He assured that the Management of Jah Oil Company will continue to be law abiding and will endeavour to supply the expected fuel to its customers. He also assured that any have proof over on the allegation He will bet one hundred thousand dalasi. Mr. Hydra further spoke extensively on the quality of its company products second to none in this country. Therefore as a Gambian own company Mr. Hydra call on the need for Gambian to patronise Jah Oil company in a bid to boost our economy.
