Real title hopes suffered another blow, Brikama Utd forced to draw

League leaders Real de Banjul title ambition suffered another setback after being forced to another draw while Brikama United were held to a 1-1 draw by Gamtel FC during their week-nine fixtures of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) 1st Division League played on Tuesday.

Real de Banjul were forced to another 1-1 draw by Samger FC during their week-nine (hand-in-hand) fixture played at the Late Ousman Saho football field in Old Yundum.

Struggling side Samger FC took the lead in the early 5th minute of the game, before David Sambou restored purity for Real de Banjul with a powerful header in the 58th minute.

This is the third draw conceded by Real de Banjul after registering back-to-back draws, while Samger FC also collected their third draw of the season.

The City boys, overall collected five wins, three draws and one loss after nine matches, while the Academy boys, collected two wins, three draws and four defeats after nine games.

Real de Banjul maintained their lead at the top of the standings on 18 points, two points above joint second-place (Waa Banjul and Wallidan), while Samger FC sit 13th position on 9 points.

Elsewhere, Brikama United were also forced to settle in a 1-1 draw by Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) in a game played at Basori on Tuesday.

This result earned Brikama United their sixth draw of the season, while Gamtel FC registered their third draw of the season.

The Sateba boys, overall collected three wins, six draws and no defeat yet after nine matches, while the Telecommunication boys overall registered three wins, three draws and three defeats after nine games.

Gamtel FC occupied 7th position on 12 points, leveling with Fortune and Steve Biko, while Brikama United sit 5th position on 15 points.
