Ministry of Health says three Covid-19 positive pupils escaped isolation

The Ministry of Health has said at least three coronavirus patients escaped in their treatment centres which comes after two hundred and six people caught covid-19 which left one person death of coronavirus related illness.

“Three (3) cases absconded from Covid-19 treatment centers. Twelve (12), 18, 24, 67 and 85 cases were reported on the 27th, 28th, 29th 30th & 31st respectively. The test positivity rate is 12.47% (206/1652), NPHL – 1,546 (154 positives) and MRCG – 106 (52 Positives).  One case is currently on oxygen therapy,” the Ministry stated in a situation report statement.

However, the Ministry also confirmed that more than twenty covid-19 patients who also earlier evaded isolations were discharged from treatment.

“Twenty-eight (28) cases were discharged after at least 10 days from the day they tested positive but evaded institutional isolation and eight (8) from COVID-19 treatment centers. As of 28th December 2021, the following number of people has been vaccinated with,” the stated indicated.

“One (1) new COVID-19-related death registered, bringing the total to 343 (Crude Case-Fatality Ratio, 3.37%). Thirty (34) new cases were registered (Cumulative cases 10,170). Thirteen (13), and 21 cases were reported on the 25th and 26th respectively. The test positivity rate is 4.76% (34/714), NPHL – 708 (32 positives) and MRCG – 6 (2 Positives) No case is currently on oxygen therapy,”

“Three (3) cases were discharged after at least 10 days from the day they tested positive but evaded institutional isolation and 3 from COVID-19 treatment centers. As of 28th December 2021, the following numbers of people have been vaccinated with: Johnson & Johnson: Only 1 dose: 217,873. Sinopharm: Dose 1: 4,503 ▪ Dose 2: 3,315 o AstraZeneca: Dose 1: 40,680 Dose 2: 28,327,” stated in the statement.
