13-year-old girl rape case continues

Lamin Tunkara charged for raping a 13-year-old girl, Monday, 13th December, appeared before the Kanifing High Court presiding over by Justice Alexander Osie Tutu for continuation of the case.

In continuation of the case, Lamin K Daffeh native of Faji Kunda testified that sometime in month of May 2019 while on duty at Bakoteh police station, Lamin Tunkara (the accused) was reported to have raped a 13-year-old girl, which he had to take statement of his offence.

He continued that when the statement was taken the accused was not threatening and what he, the accused, said was written, while added that the accused was brought to the police station by the guidance of the victim.

“I questioned him and he gave his answers and his answers were written down” he stated.

However, the case was adjourned to the 31st of January 2022 at 11:30 am for continuation.

According to his particulars of offense, Lamin Tunkara did in the month of May 2019 at Bakoteh have unlawful canal knowledge of the 13-year-old girl.
