Abdoulie Ebrima Jammeh, leader of National Unity Party (NUP), has promised to slash down tax on businesses in a bid to regulate rural urban migration.

Speaking at a rally held in Diabugu Batapa, URR, Jammeh said: “National Unity Party will reduce the taxes to make sure that many businesses function and to circulate businesses across the country not only limiting them within the Kombo areas.”

According to him, his party’s manifesto looks at the economy of the country, adding that this is why they put down plans to show how they can get the money so that anyone anywhere in the country can have a job in the country.

“National Unity Party will do a massive reduction on the payment of taxes for example if someone wants to come to this village and establish business the tax the person is going to pay will be more limited than the one at Banjul.

“This will lead to the establishment of more companies in the villages and it will create job employments in the villages which will limit people’s migrations in the Kombo’s,” he added.

Meanwhile, he urged citizens to vote for NUP saying it is the party that gets the citizens needs in their manifesto and it is a party that is willing to get government on its feet to ensure that citizens need are satisfied as they are the servants of the public.
