Leaders of Talinding have accused Kanifing municipal council over Alkaloship row, bashing the council of failing to address the row. Two families-the Cham and Badjie recently lock into leadership tussle of the community after the demised of their community head Alhagie Ebou Samba Badjie.

On Wednesday the community leaders convened a press conference to looking for solution to the row as the Cham family claims leadership position of the community.

Speaking at the press conference Mariama Sanneh said Cham kunda explained: “the way Farama Badjie become an alkalo is clear to everyone adding that he has it through gun power and bullet citing that today the people of Manneh kunda should claim of an alkaloship not the Cham kunda.”

She explained that Farama Badjie once gave the alkaloship to Alassan and he said he cannot hold it then gave it his wife Awa Sidibeh when he was travelling then captain Liss took it from her for two days saying that she should not be the alkalo then when Farama return the it was return back to him.

Mbamba Barrow also said: “the time I arrived in the village I bought a kola nut and asked the Alkalo of the village and the villagers pointed the late Samba Badjie adding that since he come to the village if Badjie die another Badjie will come in.”

According to him, if KMC should be the only one to solve the problem as they said that a form will give to two clans to vote then let us give them the way to do it because both Cham and Badjie are all the same before it will create enmity among them while urged the village to live as the way it is now.
