No bail for alleged thieves

The Kanifing Magistrate Court has refused Dawda Njie and Modou Lamin Touray who are currently charged with stealing and felony a bail.

The duo accused Wednesday pleaded not guilty of the charges when they appeared before the presiding Magistrate Mam Samba Jallow.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor for the case appealed to the court not to grant the two accused, Dawda Njie and Modou Lamin Touray a bail, as it is not their first time of committing such act disclosed that they were both involved in  similar matters  which was brought to the Kanifing Court, too.

According to the particulars of their offense Dawda Njie and Modou Lamin Touray on the 14th of October, 2021 at Serrekunda conspired with intent  to commit felony.

On the same day  and the same place they  stole a bag containing the following items: Fiscal cash of D73,000 , 3 Bluetooth iPad valued at D10,500, 128GB memory Card valued at D500 ,08GB flash drive valued D2,500 , 7 second hand mobile Jacket valued at D1,050, Motor bicycle spare key, Motor bicycle insurance, shop key, house key, passport, checkbook, 2Sky Bank books and some receipts valued unknown and the Total sum of D87,550 being the properties of Ebrima Cham.

The case is adjourned to the 2nd December, 2021.
