GAP tells Barrow to sack corrupt officials

Gambia Action Party (GAP) has asked President Adama Barrow to sanitize his administration by sacking all corrupt officials ahead of December presidential election.

GAP press secretary, Sheikhna Faal who spoke to The Voice exclusively said in order for President Barrow to restore the public trust he must sack the bad guys in his government.

“The people surrounding President Barrow are enemies of progress and they are misleading him, they want him fail and in fact, he has failed in all the sectors of development of the country. Is high time for Barrow to take up responsibility and look at the issues affecting the citizens in providing the essential needs of the country,’’ he said.

However, speaking on the ban of political parties after December presidential election, he said: “Barrow doesn’t have any power to ban any political party as far as politics is concern in this country unless and until if the party is found wanting by the law.”

He added: “The security of the country should be a concern of every citizen and The Gambia armed forces that is the soul body responsible for the safety and protection of the people of the country.”

However, he said GAP is the solution and that his party has plans to revive the economy of the country.

“One of those is to make better use of our natural resources we have to boost our economy for instance the river Gambia. It is one key area Gambians should focus to get best out of transportation sector.

And we will transform the agriculture through canals and our fishing department through export, our motto at Gambia Action Party Mass Development through mass action and that shall be the basis which will lead to greatness. It’s about action in every sector to get this beautiful country to dedication and hardworking citizens,” he said
