No new case but three in hospital intensive care

The Ministry of health has announced that three coronavirus patients are on hospital intensive care despite registering no new case of coronavirus is registered for three days.

“This is the 383rd national situation reports since the confirmation of the first case of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in The Gambia, on the 16th March 2020. No new COVID-19 related death registered, bringing the total to 338 (Crude Case-Fatality Ratio, 3.4%). No new case registered (cumulative cases 9,935).

No case registered for 29th, 30th September 2021 and 1st October 2021.The test positivity rate is 0 (1/379), NPHL – 368 (0 positive) MRCG – 11 (0 Positives). Three (3) cases are currently on oxygen therapy. No new cases were newly discharged from the treatment centres, and zero (0) after at least 10 days from the day they tested positive but evaded institutional isolation. No new contact traced and monitored,” the Ministry of Health stated in its situation report.

“As of 1st October, 2021, the following numbers of people have been vaccinated with: Johnson and Johnson: Only 1 dose: 148,885. Sinopharm:  Dose 1: 4,457 Dose 2: 3,191.  AstraZeneca:  Dose 1:31,963  Dose 2:20,643 Of the total national target population (≥ 18 years) been vaccinated: 11.0% are fully vaccinated (2 doses of AZ/Sinopharm or 1 dose of J&J). 11.8% received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose (AZ or J&J or Sinopharm),” it added.
