President Adama Barrow has been accused of turning the constitutionally mandated meet the people’s tour to a political campaign in a bid to score points ahead of the December 2021 election.

Speaking to The Voice exclusively, press secretary for Gambia Action Party, Sheikhna Faal said Barrow ongoing tour is for his interest, “you cannot call this a tour for the people but his [Barrow] arrangement to reveal his political agenda to the people. Though, the wise ones are aware of the tactics.”

“The farmers did not achieve anything in this tour as far as the country is concern, the ambulances he distributed did he give fund for fueling it because you cannot give an ambulance without fuelling it,” he asked.

Based on facts, he said, Barrow tour is a political campaign even though the period is yet to commence, as a president he should set an example for the country but the head is campaigning what is he expect from other parties, he bemoaned.

He went lamenting that “Barrow should invest more on the essential things; what people need now is adequate health sector with medicines for the sick, or does it mean that the president and his cabinet is not aware that women are dying every day during childbirth. The Gambians need to prosper and graduate from politicians fake promises. Our economy is sinking.”

However, he said GAP will address many problems of the Gambians in their first 100 days in office.

He stated that “GAP has a unique agenda which is different from other political parties we are ready to die for our beloved country to recover the sovereignty that has been seized from us by the Senegalese and the Chinese all because of the president. We are change makers that Gambians have been looking for all these years. The time has arrived to vote out President Barrow from State House, and we will try to make sure that come December election critical changes will be made,” he said.
