ANRD party leader says his party is open for coalition to unseat Barrow

The leader of one of the opposition parties, Alliance for National Reorientation and Development (ANRD) party has disclosed that his party is open to enter into coalition with any opposition parties to unseat President Adama Barrow in 4th December election.

Speaking to The Voice exclusively, Lamin Bojang said: “If Public demand has been that there is a need for political parties to form alliance for them to be able to unseat the incumbent president [Adama Barrow], as held in our camp, a notion also held for the simple reason that we believe that for us to come together is only going to give us edge over the incumbent Adama Barrow’’

“ANRD party is strategizing and is canvasing for support and vote. And our strategic plan is also that we want other political parties to do the same thing. So that we can convince the Gambian people and tell them the situation in this country out there how painful our daily live is,” he added.

According to him, his party will definitely listen carefully and would also entertain discussions for coalition that is not going to stop their political activities as well.

“We will definitely engage people and other political parties that are engaging us and if we are approach certainly, we will give listening ears to whosoever approach us,” he expressed but as well lamented on his fear about the coalition.

Meanwhile, he said “but to my greatest surprise and dismay I came to realized that Martin at some point threw his weight behind GDC and meanwhile he was the one that master minded that discussion to come together to form a coalition, so this are tricks that we are very careful not to be part of.”
