The Ministry of Health has been urged to build a health centre in Tumana constituency to help ease the burden face by the residents of the constituency.
Honorable Foday Drammeh, National Assembly member for the constituency made the call while speaking in the parliament on Tuesday. He described building a health centre in his constituency as constitutional rights of Tumana residents.
“Since 2017 a lot of promises were made to people of Tumana in regard to clean drinking water, but no results had been seen so far,” he said
He added: “I would like the Ministry to offer me the list that supposed to benefit from this project of clean drinking water and the challenge the Ministry faced in delivery service to Tumana constituency.”
He said that the water that parliamentarians is drinking and the government is far better than what the provinces people drink and is unacceptable, adding that they cannot leave everything in the hands of the donors, and if they fail the government can intervene.
“Our leaders should not continue lie to us as in 2017 the president on his campaign made lot of promises and nothing is done fulfill. I think this government has failed in their responsibility, what are the programs and policies this government has to address regarding the issue of unemployment and is sad,” he continued.
The Gambia is built on the back of the youths. The change that he is enjoying is the work of the youths, and however unemployed rate has increased, and it affects the youths mostly and stance should be made, the lawmaker said.
