Police detain suspected sheep thieves

Police have detained three men for being in possession of a suspected stolen sheep, after the police Charlie Platoon arrested the suspects during an early morning patrols within the Greater Banjul.

“Personnel of the Police Intervention Unit Charlie Platoon, during early morning patrols around Kanifing and West Coast Regions arrested 29 years old Abdou Bah at Farato, for being in possession of a suspected stolen sheep,” police said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the police said: “similarly, the Delta and VIP Platoons also during routine vehicle checks intercepted a yellow taxi with registration number BJL 6020 L around Pipeline. Search was conducted on the taxi leading to the discovery of a suspected stolen sheep placed on the front seat of the taxi.

“Two suspects were arrested by the names Modou Jallow 30 and Modou Lamin Ceesay 27 years old. The suspects are helping the Police in their investigations.”

Police urged members of the public to volunteer information about criminal activities within their communities.
