Supporters of President Barrow’s National People’s Party yesterday stormed the party’s head office Churchill Town to cheer the dramatic U-turn of Abdou Willan from rival United Democratic Party and described the day as history in the country.

Mr Willan, who dumped to United Democratic Party ten days ago, told the gathering his mission was to ‘research and get information’ which he claimed has been successful.

“I was only there for research and I have returned with a lot of information,” Willan said at a meeting held at NPP’s office in Churchill’s Town.

In what looked very excited celebration saw the presence of lawmakers showing support to The Gambian leader among them MP Saikouba Marong and senior officials of the NPP.

NPP supporters could be seen in a video shared by the party’s Facebook, clapping and cheering Mr Willan for his dramatic U-turn. He cannot be taken from us, he is a true supporter of Adama Barrow and now we are going for 15 years,” one of the speakers could be heard shouting, as they crowned Mr Willan for what they described his true and brave decision.

Another speaker told the gathering they have seen no one capable ruling the country more than President Adama Barrow and urged the supporters to stay loyal to President Barrow and the party as well as to the country.

“If anyone thinks to say that you have succeeded in removing people from NPP and take them to UDP that is a fake notion the person is relying on,” the speaker said, adding that “peace party and none peace party are not the same.”

The speaker continued to urged lawyer Ousainou Darboe to be careful of some of his party officials and supporters saying they are giving him ‘false information.’
