3 Years expenditure of President Barrow surpassed ex-President Jammeh’s 22 years expenses in office – UDP Leader

Opposition leader Ousainu Darboe, has revealed that three years expenditure of President Adam Barrow surpassed ex-President Yahya Jammeh 22 years expenses in office.

He made this observation on Friday at the opening ceremony of   three-day United Democratic Party congress held at a local hotel, Kololi.

He pointed out  that the expenditure made by former President Jammeh in 22 years has been doubled by the expenditure of President Adama Barrow “which is really disappointing.”

Addressing party delegates and congress, Lawyer Darboe’s stressed that President Barrow failed to meet the expectations of Gambians and described him “worse than Yahya Jammeh.”

“People are suffering across the country while President Barrow and his government are spending millions of dalasis on irrelevant issues. The office of the president alone is spending D1,500,000 as daily meals”, he pointed out.

“All what President Barrow’s administration does best is misusing public funds,” the veteran politician told the congress.

The UDP leader further criticized the government on how he’s handling the coronavirus pandemic issue in the country.

He further emphasized importance of the 2021 presidential election urging all members of the UDP not to take anything for granted.

Mr Darboe said the Congress aimed among other things to reflect on the success, achievements and challenges of the party and to pave the way for a better Gambia. He made it clear that UDP is not only interested in positions but concerned about the future of the youths in the country.

Honorable Talib Ahmed Bensouda, Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council said the 2021 presidential election will be an everlasting history in the country as he predicts that UDP will win the 2021 presidential elections.

The three days Congress which commenced on 18th December, 2020 yesterday ended with a rally at the Buffer Zone with theme – Road To 2021.
