TRRC pays tribute to Ebou Waggeh

The nation’s Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commissions (TRRC) has paid tributes to late Ebou Waggeh who died at his Kanifing home on Monday after battling with short illness.

He was 63 years. And until his death he was the head of video documentation and processing at TRRC. The late Mr Waggeh is fondly remembered of his brilliant photo shooting which his work is recognised both nationally and internationally.

According to a release from the Commission’s Secretariat “The Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission regret to announce the death of Ebou Waggeh which sad event took place today Monday 26th October, 2020 in Kanifing. Until recently, Ebou Waggeh was the head of video documentation and processing at TRRC. The Chairman, Commissioners and members of staff of TRRC extend their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends and loved ones of the late Ebou Waggeh. May Allah grant him Jannah.”

He also worked for the national broadcaster GRTS where he was among the pioneer staff from mid-90s. He was previously editor of Coopsed with the TRRC communications department News, the newsletter of then Gambia Cooperative Union among other places.

The media fraternity has also joined thousands of Gambians and non-Gambians in paying tributes to Mr Waggeh whose death is being described as devastating.
