Rotaract Club celebrates World Breast Cancer Month

Rotaract Club of Fajara recently commemorated World Breast Cancer Month whereby the day was used to create awareness among people with breast cancer.

Dr. Hassan Azadeh lecturer at (UTG) and consultant in obstetrics and gynecology clinical unit at Medicare Health Service expressed delight for having opportunity to shed light on breast cancer and also create awareness.

He noted that breast cancer is not limited to women only as about 2.8% of men can also have it.

He explained that cancer is a disease developing abnormality in the cells, and those abnormalities of the cell in human body do not die, but increase or penetrate and cause damage to the organs.

“Cancer is a very serious matter so we have to take it quite seriously and the very first thing we think of cancer of the women is the age of the women when a woman is approaching age of menopause they have great chance of developing a breast cancer. Breast cancer is not only for elderly women but also young women can also eventually develop breasts cancer,” he said.

He went further dilated on other causes of breast cancer which include late menopause, genetic condition.

To detect breast cancer, he said “there is a way for the women themselves to find out or to locate any kind of lump in their own breast. They can examine their body through heart whether there is any extra lump in any part of the breast. The other syndrome of the breast is getting more tenderness on the breast.”
