Police arrested 221 people for violating curfew orders

Police have arrested 221 people for breaking the curfew orders just three days into a 21 days night curfew in the country.

One hundred and seventy of the people arrested are from the Greater Banjul Area while 51 people are from the rural Gambia.

PIU 33, CRR 20, Basse 31, TSU 18.

“The public is hereby informed that operation SOS is ongoing according to plans. The compliance level is very high and the IGP’s Office continues to commend the general public for the tremendous amount of support and cooperation,” police said.

Police added that the arrested individuals are being processed for arraignment before the courts.
