Deputy Mayor of Banjul Donates Food Items to Crab Island Ward amid of Coronavirus

The Deputy Mayor of Banjul, Omar Touray Saturday donates 50 bags of 50kg of Sugar and 5 boxes of dates to the people of Crab Island Ward amid of COVID-19.

Speaking during the presentation, Omar Touray, Deputy Mayor of Banjul and Councillor for Crab Island Ward said this will go a long way as it geared towards suppressing the spread of COVID-19 within the city in this period of Holy Month of Ramadan.

He said the items will help the residents of the Ward to have access to essential food commodities during this difficult time.

He quickly commended all the stakeholders for their contributions in the laudable initiative, adding that being together they can fight the pandemic.

However, the handing over ceremony was attended by authorities from Banjul City council, religious leaders, representatives from the physically challenged Association, Ward Development Committee members, youth and women.
