Covid-19: UNDA gives sanitary materials to 56 communities in NBR

Upper Nuimi Development Association (UNDA) Sunday presented some sanitary materials which include soap and detergents to 56 different communities across the North Bank Region in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

UNDA is a Community Based Organisation based in Upper Nuimi North Bank Region with the expressed aim of supporting the development needs and improve livelihood of the people of the region.

During the presentation held at Barra Car Park in North Bank Region, Chief Momodou Chatty Cham of Upper Nuimi underscored the enormous contribution of the association to the people of the district which is meant to complement government efforts in the fight against COVID19.

Chief Cham commended them for the donation and applauded for promoting unity and cooperation among themselves with irrespective of their political differences.

He as well used the event to commended Dalasi marabout, Musa Jobe of Albreda for teaming up with volunteers and Health workers to conduct mass sensitisation in the communities on COVID19.

Chief Cham challenged all to be proactive and called on people to report any suspected cases to 1025.

Ebrima Sonko Vice President of UNDA gave a comprehensive background of the association. He said the association was established 4 years ago purely to promote unity and provide development needs to the people with irrespective of their political differences.

He said the hand washing materials presented to the communities would help to control the spread of the virus.

Governor Ebrima KS Dampha thanked the association for the support and hailed the association for providing non-political platform to bring about meaningful development.

Governor Dampha said the support would contribute to the improvement of the good health of the communities. He challenged some other people to embrace peace and unity in the fight against Covid-19.

Suntu Saho thanked UNDA for their support in providing sanitary materials, which he described key to complement government and WHO guidelines in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.

Modou Ida Bah, Alkalo of Pakau Njogu,  Alagie Saho, Ward councilor of Pakau ward, Aja Ida Joof lady councillor and Ebrima Njie VDC Chairman Fass Omar Saho, Aja Gass Lowe Women Bureau Desk Focal Point,  Modou Bah Kerr Madi Dobo Alkali and court member at district tribunal, Lamin Jarju Upper Nuimi Youth District chairperson among other people thanked the association for the donation and prayed for their success.
