Barra Amdalali Transport Association donates food items to drivers amid of Covid-19

As a compliment to the government efforts to control the spread of coronavirus, Barra Amdalali Transport Workers Association and stakeholders are working the Regional Taskforce on Covid-19 Emergency to bring about positive behavior, changes and provide humanitarian assistance to donate to transport associations.

The donation was held at Barra Car Park North Bank Region.

During the donation of the food items The President of Barra Amdalali Transport Workers Association in NBR underscored the importance that the transport association attaches to the welfare of members and ensures proper management of fund to support members in time of needs.

Njie Manga disclosed that the presentation of 300 bags of rice among other items was meant to mitigate the effects of covid-19. He the association believes

Governor Ebrima KS Dampha also chairperson of Regional Taskforce on covid-19 said the support complement the government policy on providing comfortable place for private sector’s development.

Governor Dampha hailed the transport association for their support to drivers and reiterated their commitment to support association.

Hassan Busso Secretary General of the association said annually drivers were given sugar ahead of Ramadan but this year Covid-19 has affected economic activities of drivers.  He thanked drivers for their support and reassured them that the Executive members will always stand by drivers at all time.

Chief Fabakary NANA Sonko of Lower Nuimi and Alhaji Babucar Faye, Alkalo of Barra called all called for unity and solidarity of the members at this difficult moment.

Michelle Mendy, Councilor said the support would contribute to peace and stability of people at home.

Mamback Njie Adminstrative Secretary NPP, Adama Cham – Treasurer, Bubacrr Sowe driver from Amdalali among others made remarks over the donation.
