Mauritanian community in Gambia Gives cheque for D500,000 to Victims of Basse Market Fire

Mauritanian community in The Gambia has given a donation of D500,000 cheque to victims of Basse market fire that destroyed the entire market. At least 300 stalls were burnt down and half-a-million worth destroyed.

The group’s donation comes a week after the fire destruction which showed Gambian president Adama Barrow, and United Democratic Party, and Gambia Democratic Party donating to the victims.

It also comes after Barrow’s call for support to the victims

And the president of National Union of Mauritanian Employers in The Gambia, Mohamed Zeine Abidine, handed the cheque to President Barrow in State House today on behalf the community
