IYF, IMEI launch mind education project at Mile Two prison

International Youth fellowship in partnership with International Mind Education Institute has launched mind education project t at Mile II and Jeshwang Priosns.

Speaking at the ceremony Ansumana Manneh Director General at Mile II prison said the project is to help transform the mindset of both inmates and officers.

“I believe this is a starting point for us to learn to become potential and patriotic citizens,” he said.

He said IMEI projects aims to train over two hundred inmates and one hundred officers.

This training will enhance the capacity building for self-discipline and comportment which will guide youths and young growing persons to be guided in other to live a life which is free from risk and harm, he said.

He pointed out that, the program will empower the youths to be involved in skills and conflict analysis when they are confused with what solution could be effective.

“The training will also avail the trainees to be tolerant, learn to respect cultural diversities, which will enable them to live amicably with others,” he added.

He encouraged the beneficiaries to make best use of this rare opportunity of such kind through active participation which will serve as a key space to improve their interpersonal skill.

Dr Kim Ki said the Mind Education will be meaningful for the inmates and will help officers to review their mindset as an individual.
