“Information, Cadet Officers” Capacitated on Gov’t machineries

At least 25 new Entrants of “Information and Cadet Administrative Officers” into Civil Service on Friday completed two week intensive Induction Training Course on the roles and functions of Government machineries.

The training stated from January 27th-Febraury 7th, 2020 brought together inductees from the various ministries and Personnel Management Office (PMO).

Declaring the training course officially closed, the Permanent Secretary (PS) at PMO, Lamin F. Jawara explained to the inductees that working under Government is a noble job.

“We hope by injecting you people into the Civil Service as new Entrants will add more value to the system. You came at a time when Civil Service is going through serious modernization”.

According to PS Jawara, he was happy to hear from the Course coordinator Alhagie Sillah Conateh that during the training, the inductees were punctual, dedicated and committed to the course.

In his wisdom of advice to the inductees, the Director General, Management Development Institute (MDI), Alieu K. Jarjue urged the inductees to be sincere and honest to the country, adding that loyalty in their work as Civil Servant is paramount.

Mr. Jarjue appealed to the inductees to be loyal to the Government the way they are loyal to their wives and husbands, and he explained that as human beings what belongs to them nobody will take it from them.

He enjoins the inductees to be loyal to their employer (Gambia Government) at all-time, thus stressing that as Civil Servants they should not put themselves under stress.

“Gov’t is your employer and it was the same Gov’t that trained you to familiar yourselves with the roles and functions of its machineries so that you can do justice to your work,” MDI boss informed inductees.

Jarjue advised the new inductees no to compare their success to any person but instead they should be what they are and be content of what they have in their life.

According to MDI boss Jarjue, to be part of the Civil Service is an opportunity for them as they were the luckiest to be appointed by PMO from lots of Gambian.

Both the deputy DG at MDI, Mrs.Fatou Njie- Barry and Course Coordinator, Alhagi Sillah Conateh spoke during the closing ceremony which followed the presentation of “Certificate of Participation” to all the 25 inductees.

The inductees also presented souvenir to Alhagi Sillah Conateh as a sign of appreciation to his effort during the training period.
