Minister Bah Commences Nationwide Tourism Facilities Tour

As tourism winter season continuing, the Minister of Tourism and Culture (MoTC) today commences a weeklong nationwide tourism facilities tour.

Minister Hamat NK Bah is accompanying on the tour by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Director Generals of Gambia Tourism Board, Gambia Tourism and Hospitality Institute and National Centre for Arts and Culture, tourism stakeholders which include officials from the three institutions, selected committee member of the National Assembly on Tourism and Culture and member of the press among others

The present tourism facilities tour which many of the stakeholders described ‘overdue’ will be the first nationwide tourism facilities tour the Minister of Tourism and Culture and its institutions will embark on in the last three years hence the 2018 conducted tours was within the TDA1 and TDA5.

The tour will enable the Ministry and institutions under its purview to gauge and examine the tourism facilities across the TDA1 to TDA10 in the destination. It will as well help stakeholders, hoteliers, different vendors such as craft, juice pressers, carvers, weavers and others to showcase their products and projection for the ongoing winter season.

In addition this will enable the Minister and its institutions to know the problems, constraints facing the industry as the season proceed.

Meanwhile, places to visit includes parks, camps, home-stay projects, lodges, hotels, safaris, hunting camps, World Heritage and Related Sites, craft markets, Museums, Hospitality Institutions and more.
