Pro-government protesters take to street to protest against ‘three-year agreement’

Thousands of pro-government demonstrators took to the street to demand President Adama Barrow to rule for five years. They chanted ‘peace and stability’ as they marched from sting corner to Denton bridge.

Thousands other people from three years pressure group last month took to the street to demand President Adama Barrow to honour the gentleman agreement of coalition and step down from power.

President’s youth adviser, Henry Gomez said: “the constitution says five years and the progress speaks for Adama Barrow. Seeing is believing we were just inaugurating the conference centre, and in three years how many roads [has] have Adama Barrow constructed?”

According to him, the whole nation should be blame for the three years issues and not putting the blame on President Barrow only.

Dr Ahmadou Samateh, minister of health and social welfare said he took part in the protest not as a minister but as a citizen, saying “I am like any other citizen and I have the right to exercise my constitutional right like any other Gambian.”

“As far as he [president Barrow] is following the law and he wants serve for five years and complete this process, I support that idea. My own conviction like others here who are also thinking in that line,” he said.

We started some process and my wish is to complete those processes
