Brufut diaspora have been praised with high sense of gratitude for their continued support to developing home based health centre with developmental projects ongoing. It follows a meeting between staff of health centre and members of the community diaspora
Speaking to voice in an exclusive interview office in charge of the health centre Omar Dampha said: “this development that is taking place right now is totally sponsored by Brufut Diaspora.”
He added: “the wind use to get inside the ward and everywhere get dusty but now we have the sliding windows that prevent the ward getting dust, even before all their windows were nets but now its change, adding that during hammatan the wind blow affect them.”
He said most part of the dilapidated hospital are now fixed by the project adding “waiting sits for patient is been maintenance, and new waiting sits build for antenatal mothers, the security room is also build as they promise to provide one for them. The drugs that are supply are widely used as far as am concern and the government is sponsoring this clinic100%.”
He said the development has addressed many challenges faced with the hospital for the past one-year adding “but now thing are changing due to the help of the Brufut Diasporas.”
‘’Here is a minor hospital and you don’t expect certain types of drugs but we have all the lifesaving drugs and Gambia is the only country that is giving health care for free, the D25 is for consultation feed the drugs are for free,” he said.
He however said other individuals and organizations do give helping hand to the hospital “but in term of drug supply is the government who are in charge as far as this facility is concern and they supplied all the lifesaving drugs that the health centre need.”
