PPP Leader Firm to Move on

Momodou Musa Njie, the elected leader and secretary general of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has said that he will not resign from his position as the party leader.

Amid faction within the PPP leadership after the congress demanding the currently secretary general to resign on the grounds that he is not a member of the party.

Widely called Papa Njie, was speaking during a press conference held at PPP’s Bureau in responding to the faction in PPP, Bakary Bunja Darboe’s supporters did requested his resignation from the party’s leadership.

“I would not step-down from my position as the party leader and secretary general of the People’s Progressive Party; I am looking forward to work in restructuring the party to revive the Gambia for better,” he stressed.

On the current PPP’s political deadlock the PPP leader said he is ready to dialogue with Bakary Bunja  Darboe’s faction to ensure the unity of the decades old political party in the country, adding that despite the ongoing political crisis within the party he did not sent any person away from the party.

On the youths

He assured that he is ready to engage the young people on every developmental issue regarding the betterment of the country, adding that when his party handles the mantle of leadership in the Gambia he will make sure the youths are represented to the expectation.
