Gassama Urges Gambian Leaders to Unite

Alhagie Basiru Gassama, ex- intelligent officer in the first Republic has urged President Adama Barrow and his vice Hon. Ousainou Darboe to unite for the welfare of the country.

“Let them not listen to people who are trying to burn fire within them [The President and his vice]. What President Barrow did for Hon. Darboe is what was expected from him [Barrow] because he did what he promised during his campaign period,” he told The Voice in an exclusive interview recently.

He added: “He released all political prisoners and appointed Darboe as ministers for International relation and Gambian abroad where he [Hon] work tirelessly and restored the diplomatic relation that was spoil under ex-president Yahya Jammeh’s regime.”

It can be recalled that there was a speculation that President Adama Barrow and his subordinate were having a political misunderstanding that hammered contradict political debates within populace.

Gassama further advised the two leaders not to listen to people who are close to them for their own interest, calling on the men to put the interest of the nation forefront as Gambia is greater than all.

“Peace is power, without peace there will be no development in the country and we cannot achieve peace in this noble country without collective ideas. No man is perfect but when they [the top officials] work as a team, they will leave a good legacy in the country,” he confidentially highlighted.
