FIFA president calls on Gambian President Barrow

FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Monday called on Gambian President Adama Barrow at the State House in Banjul and expressed delight at developments in Gambia’s football sector.

A statement issued by the presidency said Mr. Infantino expressed delight at meeting President Barrow and gave the assurance that FIFA would continue to support to West African country’s football.

He appealed to President Barrow to continue supporting the development of football in the country.

Mr Infantino and his high level delegation, including the FIFA Secretary General, Fatma Samoura, was accompanied to the Presidency by the President of The Gambia Football Federation, Mr. Lamin Kaba Bajo, and other senior officials.

In his welcoming remarks, President Barrow called for a stronger partnership between FIFA and the Gambia Football Federation and said his government would continue to contribute to the development of the sport.
