Six Staff Resign From Nassim Fishmeal

At least six staffers have resigned from a Mauritanian based factory  called “Nassim Fishmeal” on grounds of unsatisfactory condition and lack of payment of salaries and this development took place on Wednesday 12th December 2018,

Some of the dissatisfied resigned staff included Musa Jallow, Yaya Saidy, Wuyeh Manjang, Momodou Bah, Sanna Saidy, Albino Dacosta. Among others and they spoke to this medium to that effect.

According to them, their salaries are not usually paid on time and that they are yet to collect their employment letters from the company.

For Musa Jallow and  his colleagues decided to leave the factory owing  to what he term as unfavorable working condition, unreliable receiving of their allowances, salaries among other benefits, cognizant of them being family members

“It is true that we are yet be given an employment letter from the factory couple with lack of receiving our salaries and other entitlements and we cannot continue working for the factory and the working condition is also unfavorable”, he told this medium.

For despite the troubles with the company, they have  families to take care of at home as such the company cannot just jump and change the working place to Banjul and expect them to reporting to Banjul, with such terrible conditions as cited earlier.

For Yaya Saidy and Sharif K. Bojang all expressed concerned over the new location of the factory to Banjul, which they said is unfavorable.

They said the company existed for only one year now and close for six-months in order to meet some of its environmental regulations, as they could not meet all the financial requirements at once.

“We have experience a lot of lose occasioned by  the said  closedown  but, with all that we have been trying a lot and also struggles a  lot to ensure we meet some of the basic requirements at work and home, but that cannot continue, hence we decided to resign  from the company to me have no reason”. Bojang said.

According to them Gambia Revenue Authority and the Labor Department were contacted on the matter, especially on payment of social security and GRA dues for workers of the company.
