Gambian forward Abdoulie Manneh scored on his debut for Cercle Brugge following his return from injury, but his side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League.
Manneh opened the scoring just nine minutes into the match, giving Cercle Brugge an early lead and marking his return to competitive football with a goal.
However, Cercle Brugge were unable to maintain their advantage as Anderlecht scored twice in the closing stages to secure victory.
Despite the defeat, Manneh’s goal provided an encouraging start to his career with Cercle Brugge as he seeks to regain match fitness and establish himself in the team.
The Gambian forward will now look to build on his debut performance and contribute to Cercle Brugge’s campaign in the Belgian top flight.
