The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) has announced that it will conduct its fifth mobile biometric passport enrolment exercise in Italy and Spain from 4 to 11 October 2026 to provide passport services to Gambians living in the two countries and elsewhere in Europe.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the department said the exercise was being organized through the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Gambians Abroad as part of efforts to improve access to essential documentation for the diaspora.
The mobile enrolment team will begin operations in Milan, Italy, where applications will be processed from 4 to 7 October between 0900 and 1800 hours daily. The venue in Milan will be announced at a later date.
The exercise will then move to Madrid, Spain, from 8 to 11 October, with enrolment taking place during the same hours at the Embassy of The Gambia on C. Hernandez Iglesias 20B.
The GID urged Gambians residing in Italy, Spain and other European countries to take advantage of the mobile service and complete the required online payment before attending the enrolment sessions.
The department said the initiative forms part of its broader strategy to improve service delivery for Gambians abroad by making biometric passport services more accessible and facilitating lawful travel.
