Gambian swimmers Ousman Jobe and Pap D. Jonga exited the men’s 50m freestyle competition at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games after failing to progress beyond the heats.
Competing in Heat 3, Jobe finished seventh in a time of 27.52 seconds, while Jonga placed eighth with a time of 28.30 seconds.
Although neither swimmer qualified for the next round, both represented The Gambia in a competitive field featuring athletes from across the Commonwealth.
Their participation marks another appearance for Gambian swimming on the international stage and provides valuable experience for the athletes as the country continues to develop the sport.
