Gambian nasheed artist Abubacarr Mishari Njie has paid tribute to QGroup, particularly QTV, for what he described as years of unwavering support that helped shape his musical career.
In a statement, Njie said QTV believed in his talent from the early stages of his career by broadcasting his nasheed videos free of charge, enabling him to reach audiences across The Gambia.
He said the exposure provided by the television station played a significant role in introducing his work to the public and helping him establish himself as a nasheed artist.
Njie also acknowledged the station’s continued support, noting that QTV had made its facilities available for his video productions whenever required.
He expressed special appreciation to QGroup Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Jah and Mr. Tunkara, as well as the entire QTV team, for their encouragement and confidence in his potential.
According to the artist, the support he received motivated him to continue promoting Islamic values through nasheed music.
Njie said his association with QTV has become so strong that many people now refer to him as “Mishari QTV,” a name he described as a reflection of the broadcaster’s contribution to his career.
He added that the recognition and exposure gained through QTV had opened opportunities for him to perform and travel abroad, including visits to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The artist concluded by thanking QGroup and QTV for investing in young Gambian talent and prayed for continued success for the media organisation in supporting emerging artists.
