The Bundung High Court has dismissed an application by the Manjai Kunda Village Development Committee (VDC) seeking an injunction to halt activities at the Father Gough Sports Complex, popularly known as Manjai Park.
In a ruling delivered on 27 July 2026, Justice I. Janneh dismissed the application, allowing the 2026 Nawettan tournament and other scheduled activities to proceed while the substantive case remains before the court.
The dispute before the court concerns the ownership, management, possession and control of the sports facility.
Following the ruling, the court adjourned the matter to 21 October 2026 for the continuation of proceedings.
The decision clears the way for organisers to use Manjai Park as a venue for the forthcoming Nawettan season despite the unresolved legal dispute.
Attention is now expected to focus on the five Manjai-based Nawettan teams that boycotted the 2025 competition following the disagreement over the management of the facility.
It remains unclear whether the teams will return for the 2026 tournament while the main case is still pending before the court.
